❝ Viserys said once that it was my fault for being born too late. If I had been born more timely, he said, Rhaegar would have married me...❞ What if she had been born earlier and indeed married Rhaegar? How would they have dealt with their father's growing madness? Would the dragons have been hatched? Would the rebellion still happen?

Dance of dragons/HOTD; instead of having a son, Baelon and Alyssa have Daenerys becoming the younger sister of Viserys and Daemon. Or even saying that instead of having a stillborn son, Gael has a daughter but still passes away, and King Jaehaerys can legitimize her out of pity or not. Or maybe she was the second child of Prince Aemon and Lady Jocelyn, who inherited the Valyrian look and was born after her father died, and it was after her birth that Baelon became the heir to the Iron Throne.

Pact of Ice and Fire; in which a Targaryen princess was promised to a Stark, for the dance/hotd can be between her and Cregan. In an au, if a rebellion happens due to Aerys' madness or Rhaegar's plans to depose him, it can solidify the alliance with House Stark with a marriage between Robb and Daenerys.

Arranged marriages; this comes with the territory here for royalty, and I admit I'm a bit of a sucker for it, political marriage to more. This can be for other got/asoiaf characters, like a marriage with Willas Tyrell, a legitimized Aurane, or Gendry. Maybe even a Jaime for the sake of an alliance or something. It will also work with other characters from similar fantasy series.

The queen that never came; she never sailed to Westeros and remained where she was in Meereen, she was a queen there already, and her subjects needed her there more than the fragmented Seven Kingdoms. She had also just started to dismantle the slave trade, and it's not as if she could leave to let everything go back to the way it was.

❝ I've known a great many clever men. I've have outlived them all. You know why? I ignored them. The lords of Westeros are sheep. Are you a sheep? No, you're a dragon. Be a dragon. ❞ When she arrived in Westeros at last, not only did she have the greatest army in the world and three dragons, but she also had the alliance of 3 kingdoms and their armies, more than enough means to take the capital without much bloodshed or much opposition, which she did. Reclaiming her family seat by right of conquest, just like the throne was taken during the rebellion, she claimed back in the same manner. (A Daemon in this scenario will be interesting to have).

Mother of dragons, rider of dragons; aside from being their mother and being able to handle them better, she has ridden all three of her dragons to create a proper bond with them. This is not to say the dragons will and cannot bond with others, but first and foremost she will always be their mother. aka those are her dragons not fully yours.

Miscellaneous; Robb's will that legalizes and names Jon as his heir, the fact that her father disinherited Rhaegar's line once he died and named Viserys as heir, refrain of the use of the name Aegon (like really writers, really), the fact that more than likely Lyanna was Rhaegar's second wife, and I doubt there was any annulment done. No vilification of Rhaegar
